Quarter timber is the name for a special kind of square timber that is produced from round timber through one horizontal and one vertical cut. The resulting timber does not only look better than boxed heart timber, but it is also by far more stable and more warp resistant. Due to its beautiful surface, it is frequently used in interior fittings and in timber frame construction.
