Upper Franconia's District President Piwernetz and Martin Schöffel (MdL) visit GELO

High-ranking political visitor to GELO. We discussed forestry in northern Bavaria. One thing is clear to all of us: forestry policy and wood processing means active climate policy in harmony with nature.

Together with District President Heidrun Piwernetz, Martin Schöffel (MdL) visited GELO.

GELO breathed new life into an industrial wasteland, the former foundry. This was supported by the Free State of Bavaria with funds from the regional economic development agency.

"The new sawmill in Wunsiedel is also a strong signal for the forestry industry in northern Bavaria. Together we want to support the Forst Holz Oberfranken cluster in order to strengthen the use of wood for construction, materials and energy. This is active climate policy in harmony with nature!" said Martin Schöffel during the visit.
